The Sub-Junior & Challenger Sprint National Rowing Championships, 2012, is slated to be held at the Kodaikanal Boat & Rowing Club, Kodaikanal from 10 - 17 June 2012.

Kodaikanal Boat & Rowing Club came forward to join hands with the Tamilnadu Amateur Rowing Association to host these prestigious Championships. This will be the second time that KBRC will be hosting a National Championship. The earlier event was in 2004.

TARA, the State body for rowing, has been at the forefront of promoting the sport of Rowing in the State of Tamilnadu and the country, since 1974. The efforts of TARA over the years have resulted in several National medals and also in several rowers of the State donning the India Colors.

The Championship itself will see over 250 participants from over 20 States coming together at Kodaikanal. Approximately 150 races will be rowed over a period of four days and for the first time in Tamilnadu the races will be held over a marked 3-lane course. It will also be run by a Jury that will comprise of qualified umpires from various parts of the country.

TARA will also release a souvenir on the occasion and will receive national coverage of the event.
